The Audacity
Hope is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in the performing arts. From an early age, she exhibited a great interest in the creative arts, often painting, sewing, or dancing whenever possible. Her earliest artistic endeavour, aged around 4 or 5, was a hand-sewn clown. She had craftily created it after her teacher had said it was far too complex for her and to try something a little easier. After pondering her choice between a two-toned apple or a clown with a burst of bright, funky fabrics, Hope decided to take the initiative and chose the latter. Luckily, her ambitious gamble was a great success, making her teacher smile!
The Former Performer
She appeared in a fun assortment of 90's MTV pop videos, TV shows, beauty pageants, magazine columns, and advertisements before getting behind the camera herself.
The Triage
Now restricted by disability and chronic pain, self-portraiture and surrealism gave her new avenues of expression. Her art spans the entire gamut of the human condition, often evolving in style but consistent in voice. From whimsical surrealism to the vulnerable glimpses of spoonie life.
